AGENT FOR N. P. WILL BE IN COTTONWOOD
DECEMBER 6.

Frederick Benz, agricultural agent for the Northern Pacific Railroad and known as the "potato king" of the northwest will be in Cottonwood on Tuesday, December 6th at 11 a. m. to speak to the farmers and all those interested in potato growing, regarding the many fine points necessary to raise first prize potatoes.

The Spokane Review in a recent article published in its daily on November 22, had the following to say in regard to Mr. Benz:

"Frederick Benz, agricultural agent of the Northern Pacific railway, was a Spokane visitor yesterday. Mr. Benz, formerly known as the "potato king" of the northwest, for many years was actively engaged in potato production in the Toppenish district.

His two sons are still running the farm and their potato crop this year will bring them a revenue, he reports, of $30,000. They farm 320 acres, putting about 80 acres into potatoes each year. Prices this year have been good and they are receiving $27.50 a ton for the crop and a premium above that on the better grades.

Mr. Benz will be one of the speakers at the potato show and conference in Spokane the week of December 12."
