Finch High School Students Organize Socialite Club

The high school students of Finch High met in chapel Monday, January 5, 1953, to organize a Socialite Club.

The purpose of this club is to create a clean and wholesome attitude on social problems and activities. The continuance of this program throughout this school term will inspire and motivate a higher standard of better living among our boys and girls.

The officers who were chosen by the student body and voted upon are as follows: President: Lucille Lobrano, a member of the eleventh grade class; Vice President: James A. Graves, ninth grade; Secretary: Aretha Andrews, ninth grade; Assistant Secretary: Ethel Gayden, tenth grade; Reporter: Blanche Hayes, ninth grade; Assistant Reporter: Velma Perry, twelfth grade; Business Manager: Willie M. Ray, twelfth grade; Assistant Business Manager: Ed Vaughn, Jr., eleventh grade; Treasurer: Donald Hughes, ninth grade; Assistant Treasurer: Ike Graves Jr. eleventh grade; and Chaplain: Daniel Anderson, eleventh grade.

The officers are representatives of each class of the Finch High School. Without doubt, they have scholastic ability that will create executiveness among their mates.

These alert members have high hope for bringing out the cooperativeness among a group of boys and girls to show fair play.

The following day the cabinet members met to thrash out some of the problems for the organization. These members are going to build a true foundation for good leadership toward good living.

From time to time, they will discuss different problems that will build a better moral standing in a community.

The faculty of Finch High is one hundred percent with the group to make the organization more functional.
