W. H. Tucker, in his speech at the Court House on Wednesday evening last, stated substantially that Mr. J. E. Shoverman was a defaulter to the amount of some $1,400, and that said money belonged to the soldiers' bounty fund. The whole thing is a fabrication without anything to base it upon, and Mr. Tucker has allowed himself to be duped by some person who has told him this story. Every person who was a resident of the Township of Waverly at the time alluded to knows that the story is entirely untrue.
