All honor to the "boys in blue."
The following editorial squib has been credited to the Monitor by an exchange but we can not claim it.
The cry of "Anything to Beat Mead" has been changed to "Anybody to Beat Mead" with volunteers very slow in stepping forward.
In this issue of the Monitor there will be found much of interest to the old soldiers. Besides a page of special material the Monitor publishes a letter and clipping of especial interest to Orleans county veterans regarding a soldier now famous, who was born in Lowell.
The Monitor desires to call the attention of its farmer readers to the fact that there is a communication from C. F. Smith of Morrisville, Master of the Vermont Grange, in this issue urging the co-operation of the farmers of the state.
We would also call attention to the fact that the Monitor is striving each week to have something of especial interest to its farmer readers. We have published a course in agriculture of nine two-column lessons by an authority on the subject, are now publishing a series of lessons by a poultry authority on poultry raising and methods, and have other courses when this is completed, besides a number of special articles.
