Approval Given For Future Lease On Golf Course

WEST PALM BEACH (AP) - The City Commission today has authority to sell or lease the municipal golf course and swimming pool should its members ever consider it advisable.

Voters authorized the step yesterday in a referendum that touched on the racial problem.

The enabling act made no mention of the conditions under which the city commission would dispose of the facilities but voters generally understood it might be used if racial integration were ordered. Negroes here have brought suit for permission to play golf and the suit is pending in Federal Court at Miami.
