The Adjutant General's Report is fast approaching completion. The first volume contains 1127 pages of closely printed matter, reaching the General's office. It is a faithful military record treating privates and officers equally, with brief but comprehensive histories for each enlisted man or appointee. The bad is published with the good. Compared to New York's 1862 report, which only lists officers and ignores privates, this has a third more matter. Gen. Baker executed the task splendidly with care and competent assistants.
