A number of troops had assembled at Vera Cruz, and more were momentarily looked for, as they were marching from all parts of the country.—The quota of troops to be furnished by Mexico, is said to be 7,500. The Colombian troops were assembling at Carthagena, the quota of that Republic said to be 12,500. The forces were expected to sail for the general rendezvous about the middle of January, and the combined army to arrive off Cuba about 1st April.

Those in Havana who were in favor of a more liberal government, were anxiously looking for the arrival of the expedition.
