George Dawe Is Elected Member Of School Board

Of the 719 Votes Cast at City School Election, Winner Received 512.

George Dawe was re-elected to the school board of district No. 27 at the annual election held here yesterday. A total of 719 votes were cast. Of these two were voided by the judges and one was cast in favor of Dr. F. T. Wright. The others were divided between George Dawe and Tom Glenn.

George Dawe received a total of 512 votes, according to the count, which was completed by the middle of the evening. Tom Glenn, the only candidate opposing Dawe for re-election, received a total of 204 votes, according to the count made by the election board.

Voting started immediately after the polls were opened at 10 a. m. at the high school gymnasium and throughout the day the voters continued to arrive and cast their ballots. The vote was considered surprisingly heavy for a school election although in some recent years many more voters have marked their choice for the school board.
