PRESIDENT'S SUNDAY QUIET.

He Attends Church in Paterson and
Drives In the Afternoon.

Paterson, N. J., Sept. 4.-President McKinley spent a very quiet day here. He attended morning services at the Church of the Redeemer, in company with Mrs. Hobart.

In anticipation of his attendance the church was well filled, and after the service the President shook the hand of the minister and a large number of the members of the congregation.

Owing to the intense heat of the afternoon the President remained quietly at the home of Vice President Hobart until 5 o'clock, when he went for a drive with the Vice President and Mrs. Hobart.
