Governor Gruening praised Alaskans who gave to the fund, saying, "This shows again that Alaskans can always be counted upon to support worthwhile enterprises. In view of the many campaigns we are asked to support, this is a most generous contribution."
Anchorage and Ketchikan led the city contribution in Alaska, each giving over $1,000. A total of 18 cities and towns gave to the fund. Palmer was not represented on the list.
