Citizens Requested to
Become Good Witnesses

The attitude of the firemen in the Hartford Pearl Street Station toward the hit and run driver is to be commended, reports W. G. Robinson, General Manager of the Automobile Club of Hartford.

Unlike the average citizen who recently witnessed a crash involving a parked automobile on Pearl Street in the absence of its owner or driver, the men of the firehouse placed a signed note on the windshield giving registration number and state. Needless to say the offending motorist was apprehended, damages collected and his driving license suspended.

The average citizen is too prone to avoid being a witness and glances the other way or hurries from the scene lest he be inconvenienced. This attitude can only make the highways less safe by allowing gross offenders to go unpunished.
