The trade of Britain destroyed.

We are often told of the destruction of British commerce by Buonaparte's decrees. In looking over the list of goods imported into London in one week, ending the 18th March, 1808, we find the following :--

Brandy from France, 4400 gallons.
Butter from Holland, 105 tons.
Cheese from do. 40 tons.
Lemons from Malaga, 25,000.
Oranges from Seville, 181,750.
Do. from Lisbon, 475,000.
Do. from Malaga, 261,750.
Prunes from Bordeaux, 478 cwt.
Wine from Oporto, 33,157 gallons: from Spain, 11,838 gallons; from Lisbon, 4471 gallons; from France, 12,907 gallons.
Wool from Bilboa, 132 cwt.

From the above statement it would seem that the trade of England was not entirely annihilated at the date of these accounts.
