The Charleston City Gazette of the 13th inst. in speaking of the late news from Europe, says, "The congress of the sovereigns at Laybach, and the expression of the various political feelings, and discussions, which that gave rise to, may be, perhaps, considered of more importance than any thing else contained in these papers. The political atmosphere of Europe, is by no means unclouded, for, although the holy alliance, in their deliberations, may settle all matters, without coming to an open rupture; yet it is impossible not to discover, that a prodigious jealousy of the grandeur, and apprehension of the power of Russia, is entertained by some of the other powers; particularly Great-Britain, and France. It is even said, that a combination will be formed, by the two latter courts; to repress the increasing greatness of the Autocrat, who is abused without mercy in some of the English journals, and is denominated the greatest of tyrants. A storm seems to be gathering; whether it may blow over, we will not even presume to conjecture."
