Mrs. Will Fairfield left Monday for Portland where she expects to pass the winter.

Chester Frederick had the misfortune to hurt his fingers very badly while running an ensilage cutter recently.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tuttle of Cornville and Mr. and Mrs. Heber Ogden of Canaan were guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Tompkins recently.
Misses Effie and Linnie Carvill and Misses Lucy and Ellen Prince of Farmington and Milford Dunham of Madrid were calling on Miss Alice Rogers Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Rogers visited Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Rogers Sunday.
Miss Alice Rogers returned to Farmington Tuesday after passing the summer at her home here.

The members of the Jolly Glee club gave Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gilman a surprise party at their home Saturday evening. About 70 guests were present and all report a very pleasant evening. Sandwiches, cake and coffee were served. Mr. and Mrs. Gilman were presented with a very pretty art square by their guests.
