The "hounds" are leaving San Francisco by the dozen. It is said that a number of the worst of them have been ticketed by the Vig. Committee back to New York and New Orleans, from whence they came; but it is known that many have left for the mountains "on suspicion," and it is quite likely that the emeute will continue while the organization of the Vigilance Committee remains in active operation. Look out for the rascals; if they will go to work digging gold, give them a chance—but if they hang about the saloons and spend their time in getting up games of cards, &c., boot them from camp to camp until they shall be made glad to leave the State!
Important Arrests.—We learn from the San Francisco papers that the Vigilance Committee have arrested Martin Gallagher, Billy Mulligan, Esqr, Deputy Sheriff, and Yankee Sullivan, and have got them safe in confinement. It is said that Sullivan put himself under the protection of the British Consul a few days since, fearing the action of the Vigilance Committee, by claiming to be a subject of Great Britain. It will be remembered that this miserable hound was an Inspector of Election last September, in San Francisco, and now claims to be a subject of Great Britain.
Vigilance Committee.—The Vigilance Committee of San Francisco keeps up an active organization. Several suspicious persons have been arrested, and are held in durance. It is supposed they will be sent out of the State.
