SINN FEINERS CAUSE TROUBLE IN CHIEF CITY

Signal Wires Are Cut During the Night Around City of London.

POLICE FORCES ARE PUZZLED FOR TIME

Nine Men Are Arrested in an Early Morning Round-up - City Guarded.

LONDON, June 17. - A widespread campaign, the cutting of railway and signal wires and the cutting of the signal cabins on the railways around London was mysteriously started and carried out last night.
For a time the police were baffled as the reports came in from all directions and it was difficult to get at the scene of the general attacks until damage had been done and the culprits escaped.
Early this morning the police finally rounded up nine men. The police claim the men are Sinn Feiners and extra patrols are being thrown out late this afternoon to keep special watch against outbreaks which may again occur tonight.
