WOLF POINT— Two employees of the Montana State Highway Department were sent to the hospital Tuesday morning when their 1956 International pickup turned over a mile and a half east of Wolf Point on U. S. Highway No. 2. John Kalien, foreman of the gravel test crew and Arlie Fachner, a member of his crew, were both reported in good condition at Trinity hospital.
Kalien, driver of the wrecked vehicle, and two members of his crew were traveling east on highway No. 2 at about 8:45 a.m. when a tire blew out and the pickup went out of control, leaving the highway and turning over one full turn. David Cook, the other crew member, was released from the hospital without treatment.
The state-owned vehicle was nearly demolished, it was reported, and its occupants received only severe bruises and abrasions in the accident. The Highway patrol investigated the wreck.
