Bremerton, Feb. 18, 1902.
To the Star: I want to commend the stand you have taken in favor of the municipal lighting plant. We take considerable interest here in Seattle's fight, as we have one of our own in Bremerton. The city council stands 3 to 2 against a municipal plant. I am one of the two members favoring it. The Bremerton News is against us.
We have drawn up a resolution in its favor to get the sentiments of the taxpayers. They stand 114 in favor of public water works, and 20 against. On municipal lighting the vote is 112 for and 19 against. Still a majority of the council are holding out, and want to give away franchises for these utilities.
