The following is the Democratic ticket of Yazoo county:
Legislature, L. A. Campbell. A. M. Hicks. R. S. Hudson: Sheriff. H. L. Taylor; Chancery Clerk, G. M. Powell; Circuit Clerk, Solomon Swayze; Treasurer. R. B. Mayes: Assessor, W. T. Shell; Surveyor, J. W. Mercer; County Weigher, N. B. Russell; Coroner, John Birmingham.
The indications are that it will be elected from top to bottom by a good majority.
"It cost the government of the United States a million of lives and untold millions of money to secure to a large majority of the Republicans of Mississippi the right to vote. Rest assured that the sacred investment of blood and treasure will be looked after, and millions more will be expended, if necessary, to preserve that right."
So say the Radical fuglemen of Mississippi to their colored dupes. The negro votes in the South number something less than three-fourths of a million when all counted. At this rate it took four white men's lives to make three negro votes. That was paying dearly for the whistle.-N. O. Bulletin.
