Dr. Holton, as secretary of the state board of health, went Tuesday to Proctorsville to see that proper precautions are being taken to prevent the spreading of smallpox. Two children, aged six and 13 respectively, in the family of Frank J. Farr, are ill with the disease, which is thought to have been brought to them by a friend from Claremont, where there have been several cases recently. Dr. Holton went from Proctorsville to Northfield to deliver an address at a meeting held under the auspices of the state board of agriculture.
