Full Text
Miss Rosa Roesler, aged nineteen years, while engaged in operating a set of disc plows on the farm of John Prangitzer, in the northeastern portion of Walworth county, was frightfully injured as the result of the horses she was driving running away.
In an effort to regain control of the runaway horses the girl fell forward, but with commendable presence of mind she kept her body away from the discs until she could throw herself backward over the discs. She would have escaped without any injuries beyond a severe fright and jolting had it not been for the fact that her dress became entangled in the machinery. The dress held her tightly to the machinery, and in this position she was dragged over about thirty rods of ground, bruising and lacerating her lower limbs in a frightful manner. The flesh was torn nearly to ribbons.
