Newly Elected President of Tazewell Rotary Club.
Walker Heads Rotary Club
Auto Dealer Named President of Civic Body - P. D. Johnston Next In Command.
Noel M. Walker, President of the Walker Chevrolet Sales, was elected President of the Tazewell Rotary Club at its last Friday's meeting. Dr. P. D. Johnston was elected Vice-President and T. A. Pobst, Secretary-Treasurer. Two new members of the board of directors were also named, W. W. Thompson and Robert Brown.
Installation of the new officers will take place within a short time. It is interesting to note that the Rotary Club is twelve years old, having been chartered in June, 1927. Fifteen members of the present membership of about thirty were members the first year of its operation. Five have died during the period. The organization has served the community and the county in many ways, and hopes to continue to do so. The prediction was made when the organization was effected that it would be short-lived, going the way similar organizations had gone in the years past, but the Rotary Club has continued to grow and prosper because it has had an objective, Service.
