HITS CONDUCT OF BAPTIST
ASSOCIATION
To the Editor:

The Minnesota Baptist Association, meeting with the Zion Baptist Church of Minneapolis, has just ended, but the church going public does not really know what transpired in that Association's sessions. The Mt. Olivet Baptist Church of which I am an active member is one of the strongest supporters of this organization, yet we fail to see just why so little consideration is given this church.

The Association is made up of the five Baptist churches of the Twin Cities, and to any sober minded person it would be suicide to lose the least of these knowing that in union there is strength. Picture an organization of this size and a one man rule, one so wrapped up in self that he absolutely refuses to turn a listening ear to those who are responsible for him holding the position he is now holding.

It is a sad state of affairs when a religious organization will use unfair tactics to accomplish its ends. When my pastor, Rev. J. C. Bothic, attempted to get a hearing from the floor during the business session, he was booed or so much noise was made by the political clique of the powers that be that he could not be heard. I can hear that domineering voice from the chair saying sit down, you are out of order. Again my pastor rises to a point and again the chatter starts and the chair says that is new business and to my surprise, there has been no call for new business this morning.

Now Mr. Editor. if all this was overlooked, and nothing done or said about it, could one expect us to sit idly by and see the program carried out to the letter, and when the time came for Mt. Olivet's pastor to deliver his sermon, prepared beforehand for this occasion, he was ignored and not even as much as an apology offered for its omission.

When a man of the type of Rev. Bothic with progressive ideas and a willingness to work to help put the program over, is denied the opportunity to express his views it tells me that a change is necessary somewhere.
