We hear from East Haddam in Connecticut that on the 20th of May last 14 Hogsheads of Rum were seized there by Duncan Stewart, Esq; Collector for the Port of New-London, for being illegally imported : but that on the 5th. of June following the Store in which it was deposited was broke open and the said Hogsheads of Rum in a clandestine Manner taken away: A Proclamation is issued by Governor PITKIN, offering a Reward of Twenty Pounds for detecting the Persons concerned therein, and recovering the said Effects.
