Full Text

April 21. The Reception of Lieutenant General Lally, whom the French Court has thought fit to recall, is not likely to be very favourable on his Return, considering the Complaints made against him by the Dutch, as well as the French East India Company, for exacting Sums of Money from their Settlements, and the remonstrances of his own Officers ; so that he will have Need of all that Address for which he is so famous, and of all that Interest by which he has been hitherto supported, to extricate him out of the Difficulties in which he has been plunged by his haughty and rapacious Temper.
