Sen. Charles Tobey
Rep. John Kennedy
Rep. John McCormack
Liberal and labor elements of the national electorate have a job of prime importance this fall: to make sure the scales in Congress weigh more heavily for the people and progressive laws.
Voters in the primary elections in New Hampshire, Colorado and Massachusetts can greatly aid the fight by returning the staunch liberal incumbents up for reelection.
Primaries in Colorado and New Hampshire are Sept. 12, and in Massachusetts on Sept. 19.
Sen. Charles W. Tobey, a liberal Republican with a good record in favor of the people, asks New Hampshire citizens to send him back, and the BRT backs his request.
In Colorado, Sen. John A. Carroll, Democrat, an outstanding liberal from the West, is firmly supported by the BRT and the state officers and members are lending every effort to renominating him.
With him for renomination are Congressmen John H. Marsalis, 3rd District; and Wayne N. Aspinwall, 4th District, both Democrats and warmly backed by the BRT and labor.
Massachusetts voters have a chance to return a squad of veteran liberal congressmen, all with good labor and public records before the Congress. Leading the parade is John McCormack, House majority leader.
All Democrats, they are: Foster Furcolo, 2nd District; Philip J. Philbin, 3rd District; Harold D. Donohue, 4th District; Thomas J. Lane, 7th District; John F. Kennedy, 11th District, and John W. McCormack, 12th District, House majority leader.
