Full Text
President Truman has appointed Mrs. Perle Mesta, an intimate friend of the Truman family, a shrewd business woman and Washington hostess to the post of minister to Luxembourg.
And Mrs. Eugenie Anderson, of Red Wing, Minnesota has been handed the assignment of ambassador in Copenhagen. Mrs. Anderson is not well known to the President, but the assignment represents his thanks to women voters and recognition of the hard-driving women's division of the Democratic National Committee. She was recommended by Mrs. India Edwards. head of the division, for her competence.
Mrs. Mesta proved an excellent money-raiser and organizer in her work with the national committee, and she was fearless about pointing out to people who profited from the Truman administration that loyalty is a two-way street.
