TRIPLE TRAGEDY IN MARLBORO, N. H.

Manna Nelson Killed Wife, Daughter and Himself on Day Agreed Upon for Voluntary Separation.

(Special to The Reformer.)

MARLBORO, N. H., Dec. 14.

A triple tragedy was revealed last night about 6:30 by the finding of the bodies of Manna Nelson, 25; his wife, Mrs. Jennie Nelson, 21; and their daughter, Irene, aged three years.

Mr. and Mrs. Nelson had decided to separate, Mr. Nelson being jealous of his wife's actions with a young man of Marlboro, and Mr. Nelson planned to take his daughter yesterday to Jaffrey, where he was working. Mr. Nelson went to Keene yesterday and bought a 32-calibre revolver and after returning home, probably in the afternoon, he apparently cut his wife's throat, then cut his daughter's throat and put a bullet through her forehead, then sat in a chair, cut his own throat and shot himself twice. When the tragedy was discovered there were five empty shells in the revolver, but only three could be accounted for. The house showed signs of a struggle and a mattress was found in the middle of the floor.
