WASHINGTON. FEBRUARY 8.

The Bankrupt Bill is again under discussion in the House of Representatives. Our wishes on this subject are well known to our readers—wishes founded upon the preponderance of opinion among intelligent merchants in favor of it, and on our general impression of the advantages which might accrue to the country, from restoring to active usefulness a large class of depressed and useful men and helpless families. We wish we could say that our hopes keep pace with our wishes on this subject.—Nat. Int.
