JEFFERSON CITY. MO. -(NNPA)-A bill to prohibit race or religious discrimination in the hiring of state employees was passed Tuesday by the Missouri House, 82 to 17, and was sent to Senate.
The House approved a similar bill last session but the Senate failed to act on it. The pending measure was sponsored in the House of Representatives by James P. Troupe, St. Louis Democrat, of St. Louis, one of the state's four colored legislators.
