TEXAS AND MEXICO.

The news from Texas and Mexico is again interesting. The war is not over. After their great victory and capture of Santa Anna, the Texans appear to have rested under the false impression that no further action would be necessary. In the mean time, the Mexican government has been engaged in raising men and money to prosecute another and more vigorous campaign. Orders have been issued to every state in the confederacy to levy one-fourth of her militia, to subdue the Texans and liberate their General. An army of 7000 effective men, at the latest accounts, had entered the struggling province, and were laying waste everything before them; and a larger army was preparing to follow in their footsteps. There is still opportunity for the young and chivalric to distinguish themselves in the cause of an oppressed and gallant people.
