Topeka, Kan., Aug. 4.-Officials of the newly organized shop crafts association in all shops of the Santa Fe system today were awaiting a reply from the United States labor board indicating whether the board officially recognizes the new craft organization.
Prior to the July 1 strike the six crafts organizations and the firemen and oilers' union had the official recognition of the board. The new crafts organization, which claims to have supplanted the unions on the Santa Fe system, was formed in keeping with the 1920 federal transportation act to enable the men now working to have a voice before the federal board, it was pointed out today by the officials of the organization.
