FOR EVENING NEWS:
It was indeed interesting to read in a recent issue of your valuable paper, a letter from the Middlesex County prosecutor, recommending the appointment of a special prosecutor in Perth Amboy, to relieve the county prosecutor from trying minor cases that take up much of his valuable time.
It is generally supposed that men appointed to positions of trust and influence such as the county prosecutor are appointed for their ability and efficiency, and this should count equally as much in protecting the honest taxpayer as in seeing that the laws of the state are properly administered and violators justly punished.
