PAPER BOXES IN THE CANNING INDUSTRY.

Ogden canneries are receiving corrugated paper boxes for this year's pack of fruits and vegetables, and the new box marks an advance in the industry, as it has the strength of the old wooden box and is four pounds lighter.

A carload from the east contained 50,000 boxes.

An equal number of wooden boxes would have required seven cars to transport.

These new boxes, filled with canned goods, are going out to the trade by parcel post, which is another innovation.
