FIVE KILLED AS AUTO AND CAR COLLIDE
Four Others Are Dying;
Machine Swings Across Street Tracks
SAN FRANCISCO, July - Five dead and four others in a hospital, with physicians today still uncertain as to their recovery. was the toll of an auto wreck on Railroad ave. here late yesterday.
The dead were Thomas and Mary Lynch. their daughter, Mary. aged 5. Mrs. Bridget Lynch, sister-in-law of Thomas Lynch, and Phillip Lynch. her son, aged 2.
The injured were, Katherine lynch, 5. twin sister of Mary, Lackie Lynch. aged 2. twin brother of Phillip. Marie Lynch. aged 4. daughter of Mrs. Bridget Lynch. Miss Catherine Garvin, aged 40. sister of Mrs. Mary Lynch.
The accident occurred when Thomas Lynch, who was driving a heavy car. carrying nine persons, swung onto the car tracks to pass thru congested traffic. His machine struck a street car. overturned and burst into flames,
Four of the dead had been burned to death before the fire was extinguished. One other died soon after reaching the hospital.
