TEN ROOSEVELT CO. MEN
CALLED FOR R. R. WORK

The Fort Peck Dam project, now
employing more than 600 men,
made its initial call for Roosevelt
county men December 23. Manager
Kamps of the county employment
office states. The call was for
eight truck drivers and two shovel
runners to start work on the rail-
way grade from Wiota to the dam-
site. While this county may re-
ceive more calls for a few truck
drivers, Kamps does not anticipate
a call for laborers until the ex-
tremely cold weather moderates.
At present it is impossible for any
extensive operations to start as
there are no housing accomodations
at the dam. Completion of the rail-
way spur, within a few months,
will make it possible to ship ma-
terial necessary to put thousands
of men to work at the dam.
