From The Isthmus.—The Savannah Republican has intelligence from Chagres to the 13th of February. At that time 40 engineers were waiting an opportunity to go up the river. There were also 500 persons at Panama awaiting their turn for a passage to California. Great speculation was carried on in the transfer of through tickets. It is stated that the Peruvian Government has sent a war steamer to the coast of California, to protect her subjects who have gone in search of gold. Uncle Sam will hardly allow this.
