NEWPORT
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 2, 1820.

Republican Nomination.

At a General Convention of Republican Delegates from the several towns in Rhode-Island, at Newport, on Wednesday, the 21st of June, 1820--Philip Martin, Esq. President, and Dutee J. Pearce, Esq. Secretary--It was Unanimously Resolved, That the Hon. NATHANIEL HAZARD, and the Hon. SAMUEL EDDY, be recommended to the Freemen of this State, for re-election, as Representatives in the 17th Congress of the U. States; and it was further unanimously resolved, by said Convention, that they will use all fair and honorable exertions to effect that object.
