TOLD A PITIFUL TALE.

A man who said he belongs in Milford, and giving his name as J. R. Warren, told the men at the railroad crossing at Orange street this morning a sad story of shipwreck and exposure. He said he was one of the crew of a schooner that struck a rock near Atlantic City last Monday and sunk. One of the crew was lost. The boat was loaded with grain for New Bedford, Mass. He claims to have walked from Atlantic City since last Tuesday. The name of the boat was not given by him to the railroad men. The fellow was in a destitute condition, having lost all his money and his trunk with the vessel.
