Full Text

The U. S. Steam Galliot Sea Gull left the Navy Yard, in this city, on the 30th ult. destined to join the squadron under the command of Com. Porter. She had been hauled up at the Yard, and undergone thorough repairs, and is now completely fitted for sea. This is the last of the vessels composing the squadron, which have been sent to the Yard for repairs, during this winter; and the despatch with which they have been equipped, during an inclement season of the year, reflects much credit on the officers and mechanics of the yard. The officers of the squadron, too, for the alacrity displayed by them in making preparations for an arduous and perilous service, deserve well of their country.
