Gloucester County, Virginia.

It is reported, and we believe correctly, that the President of the United States, yesterday nominated to the Senate, Henry Clay of Kentucky (now Speaker of the House of Representatives) and Jonathan Russell, of Rhode Island, as commissioners, jointly with Mr. Bayard and Mr. Adams (now at St. Petersburgh) to conduct the negotiations on behalf of the United States at Gothenburg; and also nominated Mr. Russell as Minister Plenipotentiary to the Court of Sweden.
