A LETTER HOME

Dear Ma,

This here is the first time I've had a chance to rite to you since I came to town to school. I am getting along OK, and I think I'll like it. There sure are a lot of purty girls here. I never seen so many blondes in my hole life. Seems like everyplace you look you see a blonde. I like my studies O.K. too. I am a takin' matmatecs, English, histry and agerculture. We learn a lot in agerculture but we never do anything. Today a bunch of the fellas are a goin' to Billings to talk on the radio, They are a takin' a hull bunch of wimin with them. I don't know what fer but they are anyhow. Guess what, ma? We are goin' ta school on Saterdies now! Ain't that the nuts? Now I only have won day to tear around. and half to spend part of that in church. Jest think, tho. ma—I'll be a comin' home right sooner 'n you and pa thunk I were. Then I kin help ya in the fields and do the chores 'n all that stuff. Won't that be good, huh? How's little Oscar, ma? Is he still as cute as ever Aw gee, ma. I miss you but this shore is a good teachin' school they got here. I'm larnin' how, slow but shure. Take good care of Bessie, wontcha ma? She's a good ol cow. Well. so long now, It's time I wuz hittin' the hay.
