Last Sunday evening Mrs. O. Hendrickson, who served nearly eight years in the Chinese Inland Mission, spoke at St. Philip's church of her own work and the work of the Mission with which she had been connected.
The method of work of the Mission is for the missionaries to adapt themselves as nearly as possible to the customs of the people among whom they work. So she appeared in the Chinese robe which she had actually worn in Mission work.
Mrs. Hendrickson spoke of the growth of the Mission, how in the last ten years its membership had increased from eighty thousand to one hundred and eighty thousand.
The lecture was rich in personal experience, and this, combined with a vivid description of the manners and customs of the country, and great earnestness of delivery, made the evening both interesting and profitable.
Mrs. Hendrickson, during the day, addressed the Indians, the Junior Christian Endeavorers, and also in the afternoon held a special service for the Norwegian people in their own language.
