CHESTER—The Summer Day Camp for children of this area will again be held at the Robert Williams farm on Fairmount Road, Russell. Camp will open July 7 and extend for six weeks through August 15. It will be in session three days a week from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration will be held at West Geauga High School on June 27, 10-12 a.m. and 7-9 p.m.
Fees have been set by the Recreation Council at $10.00 for one child; $15.00 for two; $18.00 for three or more children of one family. These fees do not cover the actual cost of camp operation, making additional sources of income necessary.
Mr. Douglas Robertson, physical education instructor of West Geauga Schools, will serve as Day Camp Director.
Participation in the Chesterland pancake breakfasts in March netted the council $600 for recreation projects. The third annual "Big-Bar-B-Q" will again be held this summer at a date to be announced later.
Tag Day will be another opportunity for the community to help with contributions. This will be Saturday, May 10, beginning at 10 a.m. Children of the community will call on all local residents for the purpose of receiving donations to be used for recreational activities. Any contribution of $1.00 or more will entitle the donor to membership in the West Geauga Recreation Council for the coming fiscal year.
Checks may be made payable to the West Geauga Recreation Council. Contributions may also be mailed to the council treasurer, Mrs. Donald DeGreen, 1505 Mayfield Rd., Chesterland.
