For The Watchman,

MY CLASS.

When sabbath's hallowed morn I greet,
What makes its sacred hours so sweet?
The hope that I this day shall meet
My class.

When to my closet I repair,
To tell my wants to Jesus there,
What is the burden of my prayer?
My class.

What calls my willing feet away,
To spend an hour at closing day,
With fellow teachers oft to pray
My class.

Whose wayward footsteps give me pain;
O'er whom still bound in Satan's chain,
I've seen'd to weep and pray in vain?
My class.

Oh! may a Savior crucified,
Who doth the raven's food provide,
Be pleased in wisdom's ways to guide
My class.

When from life's troubled scenes they rest,
Safely reposed on Jesus' breast,
O may I meet among the blest,
My class.
