French Creek Q. M. (Chatauque Co. N. Y.) held its last session with the church at Freehold on the 9th, 10th and 11th inst. The writer was present with them. Though they have had hard and grievous trials, occasioned by the anti-temperance, anti-Sabbath School, anti-mission, and anti-Book Concern spirit—all claiming to be of the old stamp—yet our meeting was harmonious and comforting. I succeeded in forming a Missionary Society and collected in public and private, $18.27 for the Home Mission cause, the anti spirit notwithstanding. The donors were made up of both sexes, from old age down to little boys and girls of five or six years. One would think that the promoters of the anti-mission spirit which prevails in that section of country, would blush and drop their heads to see little children support the cause of God by their liberality, crying as it were "Hosannah to the Son of David; but they say Rebuke them rebuke them!

Brother JonL D. Cornish was ordained to the great work of the ministry by Elder Rexord. and the writer.

The next session is to be held on the 11th 12th. and 13th days of Nov. next with the 2d church in Sherman.
