A Snake Story.

Thomas Deford, who lives near Baltimore, relates a first class snake story, wherein a water snake, fifteen inches long, which was found imbedded in a cake of ice gathered perhaps eighteen months ago, was restored to life on Thursday when exposed to the sun. The ice was taken from the ice house on the place, and the snake was seen in the centre of a large block. It was cut out with a pick and was as stiff as a bone. When exposed to the sun for some minutes, however, it began to wriggle, and after a time started off for the grass. It was captured and placed in a large glass bottle, and will be shown to the incredulous.
