From New-Orleans.—Our latest intelligence from the city is to the 5th ult. and from the Balize to the 14th, by the ship Union of Providence, bar of Charleston. The inhabitants were digging ditches, under the direction of the city surveyor, in order to accelerate the running of the waters. The river had fallen five feet, and continued on the decline. Those inhabitants who quitted their dwellings, were returning to them; but many families had moved to Natchez, and more would follow to that and other places, to avoid the approaching sickness of the city.
