CAL IS SUED FOR TALKING

NORTHAMPTON, Mass., Feb. 8 (U.P.)—Former President Calvin Coolidge today was served with papers naming him co-defendant with the New York Life Insurance company in a $100,000 damage suit.

The suit, brought by Lewis M. Tebbetts, St. Louis, Mo., insurance broker, charged Coolidge with defamatory statements in recent radio talks. The plaintiff asked $50,000 compensation and $50,000 punitive damages.

Tebbetts' declaration charged that Coolidge warned radio listeners "to beware of certain insurance men" known as "twisters and extractors."

Tebbetts said he had developed a new system of "form insurance which Coolidge defamed.
