Full Text

RICHMOND, May 29.

On Saturday evening last, between the hours of 11 and 12 o'clock, some unknown villains entered the store of Messrs. J. and T. GILLIAT, by cutting a panel out of one of the front windows, and robbed them of calicoes and linen, to the amount of fifty or sixty pounds. On the same evening, the store of Mr. Livingston was broke into, and his drawer rifled of a considerable quantity of cash.

The town of Alexandria having been, for some months past, infested with a band of robbers, it is highly probable that some of the same gang have paid a visit to Richmond, and there is a great probability that they were the perpetrators of both the robberies which happened in this city on the above-mentioned evening. It is therefore highly necessary that the citizens of all denominations should take warning from those two instances to be on their guard; and exert themselves to bring to justice such atrocious offenders to the community.
